The library provides activities for people of all ages to attend year-round, and the summer is no exception! Each branch of the Coffey County Library System (Burlington, Gridley, Lebo, LeRoy, New Strawn, and Waverly) offers an annual Summer Reading Program. The 2024 Summer Reading Program theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” You will find that each Coffey County Library branch has oodles of fun and exciting events planned for children and adults alike.
While there are plenty of fun activities planned, you also can’t forget about the reading challenges offered by each branch. These challenges are incentivized, meaning that you will be rewarded for taking the time to read. Download the ReaderZone app and use the program code provided by your local branch to log online!
The possibilities are endless for the 2024 Summer Reading Program theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” All branches of the Coffey County Library will offer different activities, so it is beyond doubt that each program will be an adventure you don’t want to miss! Make sure to subscribe to your local library’s calendar on the Coffey County Library website and follow each branch on social media to keep up with all of the fun things happening this summer!

You can register and begin logging at your branch on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.
The kickoff dates for each branch are as follows:
LeRoy Branch: May 16th –All Day Long Ice Cream Sundae Bar
Burlington Branch: May 24th – 1:30p.m. Adventures in Pizza *Registration Required*
Gridley Branch: May 29th – 11:00a.m. Mobile Dairy Classroom & Ice Cream Social
Lebo Branch: June 3rd – 10:30a.m. Science Heroes: Adventures of the Lost Treasure
New Strawn Branch: June 3rd-11:00a.m. David Traylor Zoo: Madagascar Adventure
Waverly Branch: May 30th-10:00a.m. Jammin’ Randy: Adventure with Music
